Classical-crossover Recording Artist Jay Dref inspires audiences with his transcendent and passionate voice. Having trained at NYC’s famed Juilliard School, Jay’s talent first caught the ear of Grammy and Academy Award nominated songwriter, Stephen Moccio. In 2019, Stephen and producer Lauren Christy paired together to do a studio recording with Jay and, in the process, discovered his innate sensibilities along with his tremendous vocal dexterity. The song they produced, “Taxi In the Rain,” was a perfect intro to Jay’s vocal ability to deliver nuanced emotion and power in a span of moments.

Jay’s uplifting and timeless interpretations of classic standards, as well as modern material, are what eventually drew the attention of producer Gerald Hartke, whom was seeking a young, up and coming talent to perform on the soundtrack for his film, “Nicholas of Myra: The Story of Saint Nicholas. With superb artistry and technique, Jay’s voice smoothly glides through the lyrics in Carol Of The Drum, conveying love and hope for all mankind — and in five languages.
